Book Name: Idiot

Author: Laura Clery

Genre : Biography/ Humor/ Autobiography

My Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I came to know about this book by watching “Laura Clery” ( author ) videos on Facebook. I don’t know whether because of that or what other reasons the narration of the book is exactly like watching those videos. It’s a humor genre autobiography but The first half is neither humor nor serious. I couldn’t take peeing in public places or shoplifting as humorous. The author tried to describe her life incidents in a humorous way but it didn’t impact in the same way. Or the serious incidents didn’t register as “serious” because of the humorous tone. Either way the first half was vague. But the second half, the book picked up the serious tone and it suited well with the recovery of addiction and the career growth chapters. And the end chapters were fantastic. I believe the power of “thought process” “visualization “ and “mind power” which she described beautifully. The artists and creators should read those chapters to maintain their sustainability. Because of those chapters and for her courage to come out and write this book I give 4 stars. Otherwise, if you run out of good books to read give it a try.

Favorite Quotes From the Book:

“You’re an artist. You make art. Stay in the action and out of the results.”

“rather than focusing on what you don’t want, focus on what you do want. Don’t be afraid to dream as big as you want. What you are thinking, what you tell yourself, can manifest.”

“bravery is not being unafraid, it’s being shit-your-pants-scared-out-of-your-mind and doing the damn thing anyway.”
